Science Society - Pharmacology in action
On Monday 27 April, Science Society welcomed Dr Tim Bushnell who delivered a talk on the development of anaesthesia. He discussed historical methods and we were fascinated to learn that only 2% of operations on humans have been carried out under anaesthesia. The students gained an appreciation of how modern anaesthetics are administered and learnt about Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics. We look forward to having Dr Bushnell visit again in the future to learn more about the Pharmacology of pain relief. Thank you to Dr Jones for organising this opportunity.
