Filmmaking Workshop for GCSE and A Level Film Students
Thirty-four Year 10s and fourteen Year 12s completed the "From Scene to Screen" workshop given by Central Film School here at Highworth, to explore directorial choices of blocking, framing and shot types in filmmaking. This has given students insight into how to turn their theoretical knowledge about film form into the practical skills they'll need for their GCSE or A Level Film Studies coursework. The students really enjoyed the experience, even if it was a bit daunting to have one’s film watched live on a huge screen over one’s shoulder! We’re excited to develop our relationship with Central Film School for all our budding filmmakers, as they offer summer courses for secondary school students as well as degrees and beyond for post A Level.
