STEM Formula 1 Competition
Three of our teams, Flyer Feathers Racing (Year 13), Velox (Years 10 & 11), and Eleftheria (Year 12), recently headed to Canterbury Christ Church University for the regional finals of the STEM Racing Competition.
It was a high-pressure day that saw the students deliver professional pitches on engineering, brand identity, marketing, and finance. On the track, they put their CAD-designed cars to the test on a 20 metre track. Our fastest team clocked an impressive 1.3 seconds, finishing just 0.2 seconds shy of the time set by last year’s national champions. With four award nominations between them, the students came away with a wealth of experience and a sharpened set of technical skills ready to compete again next year.
