Leon String Quartet
On Friday 11 November the Music Department were delighted to welcome the Leon String Quartet once again to work with our A level musicians. Over the summer our Year 12 music students were set the challenge of writing a piece of music for the quartet and on Friday each piece was workshopped and recorded by the group. Hearing their pieces come to life when performed by professional live musicians was an exciting and valuable experience. This also taught the students important skills in professionalism when working as a composer with live performers. The Year 12 class did us proud and produced some truly excellent compositions, some of which will be showcased in department concerts later this year. We thank the Leon String Quartet for their feedback and wonderful performances - we hope to see you again soon!
