Year 12 Biology Trip
On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 July, the Biology Department took 88 Year 12 Biology students to Brockhill Country Park to carry out their A Level Biology Required Fieldwork Practical. Each day involved stream dipping to investigate the abundance of freshwater shrimp in the Brockhill Park stream and using transects to investigate grass species richness in the meadow; students were able to develop their skills related to practical ecological techniques and understanding of statistical analysis. Fortunately, the weather was lovely on both days for this highlight of the Biology course.
