Election Candidates 2019 Visit Highworth

This term, Year 13 students were given the opportunity to hear about the policies and aims of this year’s political candidates first-hand. We were very lucky to be visited by Damian Green of the Conservative Party, Dara Farrell of the Labour Party, Adrian Gee-Turner of the Liberal Democrats, Mandy Rossi of the Green party, and Susannah De Sanvil the Independent Candidate for Ashford.

Each candidate was given five minutes to outline their policies and vision for the future, followed by a chance for students to ask their own questions. The students left the assemblies feeling much better informed about the upcoming election process, the various plans and policies of each candidate and what effect these will have on the students’ academic and professional futures.

Thank you to all of the speakers involved!
