Pre-Med Dissection Day
On Tuesday 10 March, the Biology Department—led by Mrs Power, Mrs Levett, and the wider team—hosted an intensive Pre-Med Dissection Day. Joining forces with students from the Duke of York’s Royal Military School, our aspiring medics spent the day under the expert guidance of "The Dissection Guy" for a hands-on exploration of mammalian anatomy. While many had seen heart dissections before, the opportunity to see how the cardiovascular and respiratory systems connect in situ was invaluable. The day concluded with a high-impact demonstration by Sam Piri, who walked the students through the complex multi-chambered digestive system of a cow. Throughout the day, the focus remained on medicinal terminology and clinical application. Our students handled the tools with remarkable maturity, proving they have the stomach and the skill for a future in medicine.
