GCSE Drama Theatre Trip
On 14 January, our Year 11 GCSE Drama Students set off to the National Theatre to watch Noel Streatfeild’s beloved novel, “Ballet Shoes”, brought to life on the Olivier stage. In a crumbling house full of dinosaur bones and fossils, three adopted sisters - Pauline, Petrova and Posy - are learning who they are and who they want to be. From the moment we arrived in the theatre, we were whisked into a pre-show ballet lesson by the cast. The students did not want the show to end and, on leaving the theatre, Emily commented, “why would you want to do any other subject than Drama, when we get to watch shows like that!”
