Flying High: Passion, Persistence and STEM Careers Talk
"On 8 October, we had a talk from Steph who explained her journey to becoming a pilot. She went into depth about her first experience flying as a teenager and her life as a pilot ever since. She told us about all the different planes she has flown over the years from cargo to passenger to glider. A bit later on in her life she started flying commercially and shared her stories about how once in Amsterdam airport all planes flying that day had to be cancelled so they could deliver a heart to a baby who was in need of one. This story shows that planes can be used for so much more than you think. I loved the talk as it was an insight into the many jobs that Computer Science entails."
