Year 12 History Students Visit V2 Rocket Site

A group of year 12 History students were invited to see the excavation of a WW2 V2 rocket in Marden on the 2nd July. They were shown the crater where the rocket hit and the finds from the excavation. The two Aviation Archaeologists, Colin and Sean Welch from ‘Research Resource’ gave a short lecture on: V2 rockets; the launch of this particular rocket from the Hague in Holland; and the mechanics of getting 13.5 tonnes into the air…then space…then to impact in a field in Marden. Amazing!
