International Programmes

International Programmes“Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.”  Nelson Mandela

Highworth International Programmes help prepare our students to compete and contribute in an increasingly interconnected world by extending our school motto, “REACH for the stars” into the global dimension, building knowledge and understanding of people and places, the issues which unite us and the attitudes and behaviours required to become a responsible global citizen.

By celebrating our global connections and cultural diversity, we develop equality, empathy, respect and understanding. Our curriculum is enriched by our growing international links and exciting CCGL (Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning) partnerships with the Gorkha Secondary School in Tulsipur, Dang, Nepal and the Usra Academy in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Studying Abroad: This year, we have welcomed 11 International Students from Germany, Italy and Brazil, into Year 12. “Languages for Careers” was the theme of our special European Day of Languages careers lessons in which students across the school explored career options and competed to produce a page for our new careers guide.

Members of the Languages Project have helped select culturally diverse books for our library. Our latest titles have arrived from India and we are working in partnership with our local bookshop, Waterstones, to build the collection.
