Groundbreaking Ceremony

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday 27 June to celebrate the beginning of our new building project. Mr Beer dug the first shovel of earth to mark the start of this exciting new development for the school.  The event was attended by Daniel Valentine, representing the school governors and Lynn Wilson, School Finance Manager, who worked hard to secure the necessary funding for the new building.

The ceremony was hosted on-site by: Michael Larnder, Contracts Manager for Jenner; Clinton Dunn, the Site Manager; Ella Brocklebank, Head of Communications for Jenner; and Andrew Marchant, Senior Associate from Ingleton Wood.

Highworth has appointed Ingleton Wood, a leading property and construction consultancy based in Colchester, to help design and deliver the new sustainable, modern teaching block to support its plans. The Practice is providing multi-disciplinary services including architecture, project management, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design, and structural and civil engineering. Andrew Marchant, Senior Associate and Building Surveyor at Ingleton Wood, said: “We have a proven track record of delivering modern, state-of-the-art developments in the education sector across Kent, particularly with schools that need to future-proof their premises, and we are delighted to be supporting Highworth Grammar School.

We worked closely with the school during the design phase and monitored closely the tight budgetary requirements. We look forward to continue working hand-in-hand to help deliver this exciting and much-needed development."
