Make It Work Social Action Challenge

Congratulations to our winners from the Year 10 Make It Work: Social Action Challenge. The challenge took place in Term 5, and asked students to design a project that would benefit their local community. Projects ranged from cycling schemes, to social support for the elderly. Students only had 45 minutes to come up with ideas, think about marketing for the campaign, and how it would be funded. The calibre of entries was incredible, with workshop judges struggling to choose winners from each group. The overall winning project was entitled “Friends for Life”. A project that would link animal shelters to communities, with people sponsoring medication and food for animals within shelters, and shelters providing community open days; for those sponsoring animals to interact with them. Each student in the winning group, Simran, Riya, Lily and Rebecca, received a £10 gift card for their hard work. A huge thank you to the Ashford Rotary Club, for sponsoring the prizes for the overall winners.
